Jonas: The Fourth Month Begins

Jonas is 4 months old.  We celebrated by moving on up clothing sizes. He is sporting 12 month clothes at the ripe old age of 4 months.

Some of the awesome new things in Jonas' world:

He giggles. It isn't  your typical baby giggle more like him kinda breathing in and then making a high pitch sound... but he is smiling so we can only assume that he likes it. Things that make him giggle: Being dropped on a pillow, being tossed in the air, and other similar things that often result in spit up.

He grabs things. He actually looks at what he wants and makes an effort to grab it and pull it toward his mouth. Most of the time Jonas isn't quite coordinated enough to get it in his mouth for an extended period of time, but it is really neat to watch him work out the process. I can tell his movements have purpose. He loves trying to grab the dangling toys from his new playmat. It is nice to have him entertained while I clean up or make a quick bite.

He has started eating solids. We started him on rice cereal last week and I introduced some squash. It is so interesting, because now he watches Jordan and I eating as if he wants to join... but still doesn't really get it. He didn't  seem to like the squash so I just mix it up with the cereal for now, and he seems to be enjoying that. This has helped us get back to only waking up once at night! Yay for 5 hours of sleep!

He is ALMOST able to sit up on his own. If Jonas is leaning back, even just the tiniest bit at all he struggles to sit up. He likes to be sitting all the way up all the time, especially if he is sitting in your lap.To me it shows his independent personality.

He kinda sorta sucks on his fingers. He likes it but if he is hungry they make him more angry than happy... but maybe someday he will find sucking on them comforting.

He really likes music, especially this Baby Einstein toy that plays classical music. I love that he is actually LIKING things. It blows my mind that soon we will be mobile, but I am getting ahead of myself. I am excited and afraid all at once. I love watching him grow... it is such an amazing thing to be a part of. I am getting excited for the new things he will start doing in the near future. Love my big boy!
